DR MYSTERY G
SERUM
Female’s
Reproductive System
The
female reproductive system consists of two
ovaries, two fallopian tubes, the uterus (womb)
and the vagina. The cervix is the neck of the
womb and is that part of the womb that can be
seen via the vagina.
Every month, during the childbearing years, a
woman's body prepares an egg for possible
fertilization. A woman's entire supply of eggs
actually develops when she is a fetus. A newborn
girl has approximately 2 million immature eggs
at birth. By the time puberty arrives, the
number has been reduced to about 300,000 to
400,000 eggs.
Each
month the hypothalamus of the brain tells the
pituitary gland to secrete follicle-stimulating
hormone (FSH) which causes the ovaries to
produce a mature egg. When the egg is at the
proper stage, the pituitary gland secretes the
next hormone, lutenizing hormone (LH), which
causes the ovary to release the egg. In the mean
time, the hormones estrogen and progesterone are
causing the lining of the uterus to thicken and
prepare for a possible pregnancy.
The egg travels down into the fallopian tube.
Sperm must reach the mature egg while it is in
the fallopian tube in order for fertilization to
occur. Once an egg is released from the ovary it
only lives about one day, making timing crucial.
If the egg and the sperm are united, the
fertilized egg (zygote) must continue down the
fallopian tube and into the uterus, finally
implanting itself into the uterine lining. The
fertilized egg must then divide and develop
normally to become a healthy fetus.
If fertilization does not occur, the uterine
lining is sloughed off in the monthly menstrual
cycle. The complete cycle repeats itself roughly
every 28–32 days.
Anatomy
of The External Genitalia

|
The vulva
: The area starting below the navel and
consisting of the external genitalia is
called the vulva. The skin of the area
is covered with pubic hair which begins
to grow around 12 years of age. The
vulva includes the following organs:
1.
The labia majora – literally meaning
"large lips". The labia majora are two
folds of skin that flap over the other
external genitalia. This skin has sweat
glands and other specialised glands
which produce a characteristic smell.
They are covered with pubic hair. |
|
|
2. The labia minora – meaning
"small lips". These structures lie
within the labia majora and flank the
opening of the vagina and the urethra.
They have some erectile tissue which
makes them sensitive to touch. At the
upper end, they unite to form prepuce to
cover the clitoris.
3. The clitoris – this is the
structure analogous to the penis in the
male. It is the most sensitive genital
structure in the female and is covered
by the prepuce. It has a rich supply of
blood vessels and nerve endings. When
adequate stimulation is provided, it
becomes erect. The area around it
becomes thick and bulbous due to a rush
of blood.
4. Bartholin's gland – this
gland is located inside the vaginal
opening, behind the labia minora. It is
imperceptible when healthy and produces
a thin mucus that provides lubrication
to the vaginal opening during sexual
stimulation.
5. The hymen – the 'maidenhead'
is a membrane composed of connective
tissue that forms a tight ring around
the vaginal opening. The hymen is an
elastic structure that in some cases,
completely covers the vaginal opening.
It gets torn during the first sexual
intercourse. However, it is not a
reliable parameter of virginity since it
may also get torn during other
physically strenuous activities. |

How A Woman Becomes Aroused |
|
|
Stimulation adequate for sexual arousal
is controlled by the brain. Adequate
estrogen and testosterone are necessary
for the brain to sense arousal. |

Sexual Stimuli

Sexual Arousal
Output from brain:
Orgasm can only occur from a maximally aroused
clitoris. Arousal is when the clitoris is
engorged with blood to cause clitoral
enlargement (refer to diagram below),
clitoral rigidity (erection) and clitoral
sensitivity.
About Sexual Satisfaction
Orgasm (and the ability to achieve orgasm
consistently) defines a woman’s satisfaction.
Did you know…
-
Ø
There is a 98% orgasm rate
for men, yet for women it is a mere 25%
during sexual intercourse.
-
Ø
40 – 50 million US women
endure sexual dissatisfaction.
-
Ø
Orgasm increases with age.
-
Ø
Affects women of all ages.
-
Ø
Affected by the use of birth
control pills.

that time in half!

Product Composition
Glycerin, Pure Chinese Angelica
Root (Tang Kuei) Extract, Vitamin C, Vitamin E
Our beneficial
ingredient:
Chinese Angelica Root (Tang Kuei)

Tang Kuei is made from the root of the Angelica
sinensis herb. The root is preferred because it
provides naturally occurring quantities of
calcium which helps to maintain normal muscle
tone, vitamin B, Iron, Magnesium and essential
oils.
Tang Kuei combines Angelica sinensis and
Chamomile, providing a superior nutritional
tonic, to assist in balancing the body’s
systems.
Tang Kuei (or dong quai) is a Chinese herb which
has traditionally been used to support the
female reproductive system but will also relieve
discomfort associated with tense and taut
muscles. Women of child-bearing age undergo
hormonal changes that may cause a range of
minordiscomforts. The gentle herbal properties
of Tang Kuei encourage the body to restore
natural balance.
For
centuries, Chinese herbalists have considered
Tang Kuei a superior herb that can be taken on a
daily basis as a tonic. It is often added to
soups and broths to increase their nutritional
value.
Benefits:
1.
Rich source of vitamin A and B,
Calcium, Iron and Magnesium.
2.
Helpful in reducing muscular
discomforts (e.g. a stiff neck and shoulders as
a result of using weights)
3.
Helps with stiffness in the
joints.
4.
Good for migraines.
5.
Contains Chamomile, used for its
relaxing and calming properties.
6.
Helps relieve symptoms of PMS
cramps and normalize mood swings.
7.
May help promote restful sleep.
8.
Purifies the blood.
Vitamin C
Also known by its chemical name (ascorbic acid),
this vitamin plays an important role in healing
wounds in the skin and in preventing scurvy.
There is evidence that applying topical vitamin
C will help "rejuvenate" the skin and make it
appear younger by activating the oxidizing
influences to which the skin is subjected.
Once it is in the skin, studies show that
L-ascorbic acid stimulates collagen synthesis,
provides photo-protection, stays in the skin or
up to 72 hours, and prevents UV immuno
suppression, a reaction that occurs in more than
90% of skin cancer patients.
Topical vitamin C protects skin against harm
caused by exposure to sunlight. It does this by
neutralizing reactive oxygen species (free
radicals), the highly reactive molecules
produced by the interaction of sunlight, cell
membranes, and other components of skin tissue.
It does not absorb light, and hence, is not a
sunscreen, so it should not be used in
replacement of sunscreen, but rather is a good
companion to sunscreen products. Moreover, once
vitamin C gets into the skin, it cannot be
washed, rubbed, or perspired off.
Vitamin C is what is known as an antioxidant.
Antioxidants protect skin by neutralizing free
radicals, which would otherwise destroy skin and
its components. These free radicals are
stimulated by ultraviolet light and also Vitamin
C is the only antioxidant that has been proven
to increase collagen synthesis. Collagen
synthesis is essential to maintain healthy skin.
Studies show that collagen decreases with aging
and that photo-aging accelerates the decrease.
L-ascorbic acid serves as a signal, relaying a
critical message to collagen genes to synthesize
collagen, as well as being a cofactor for two
enzymes important in
collagen synthesis.
